The 6-day Kilimanjaro climb via the Rongai Route is one of the more unique treks to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. It approaches from the northeast, near the Kenyan border, and is known for being quieter, less crowded, and often drier than other routes. It’s a great choice for climbers looking for a more remote experience with a higher chance of good weather.
Route Length: ~72 km (45 miles)
Difficulty: Moderate
Scenery: Varied – forest, moorland, alpine desert, arctic summit
Acclimatization: Fair (better with a 7-day option)
Crowds: Low to moderate
